There has been considerable confusion regarding the origins of this book. The original letters written by Percy Kelly to Mary Burkett were owned by Mary and sold after her death in 2014. The letters were edited and footnoted by David A. Cross, who also wrote the introduction. Mary then funded and published the work through her own Skiddaw Press. The book was designed by Stephen Hebron.
